Each of these shows has shaped my thinking, either artistically, intellectually, or personally. Here's a list the ones that left a lasting mark:

1. Succession

A tour de force of modern storytelling. Every scene drips with tension, elegance, and emotional precision. It’s a high-stakes symphony of power, betrayal, and generational legacy—underscored by the most hauntingly perfect score ever composed for the screen. Succession isn’t just a show; it’s corporate tragedy dressed in bespoke suits and generational trauma.

2. The Sopranos

The crown jewel of television drama and still unmatched in portraying psychological depth and moral ambiguity. What fascinates me most is its exploration of Italian-American identity and culture—blending organized crime with raw anthropology. It’s not just a mob story, it’s an intimate dissection of masculinity, generational trauma, and social belonging.

3. Fringe

Some shows you watch. Others shape you. Fringe was the latter. As a teenager unsure of his path, I stumbled upon Walter Bishop—a brilliant, broken man whose scientific genius and human vulnerability awakened something in me. That spark turned into an academic pursuit, eventually shaping the researcher I am today. Fringe isn’t just fiction. It’s my origin story.

4. Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad isn’t just a show—it’s a meticulously orchestrated descent into thermodynamic chaos. At its surface, it narrates the fall of Walter White, but beneath lies a deeply layered molecular metaphor: an exothermic reaction of a man combusting under economic pressure and existential dread.

But Breaking Bad is also a brutal social critique. In a system where a brilliant mind is valued less than an insurance policy, the transformation of Walter White from a high school chemistry teacher to Heisenberg is no longer shocking—it's inevitable. It reflects the sociopolitical enthalpy of the United States: where the healthcare system is the true oxidizer, and the human soul is reduced to a limiting reagent.

5. Suits

Effortlessly watchable yet remarkably stylish. Beyond its sharp dialogue and charismatic cast, “Suits” has the most flawless soundtrack curation in TV history. Every scene sings with music that resonates emotionally and narratively. It’s comfort TV—but in a tailored Tom Ford suit.
